Savannah Levine absently wishes she could give up her powers to re-do what happened with a little girl. However, someone hears her and her wish comes true. Not sure how to survive without her powers, Savannah tries to put up a strong front.

But, there is a witch-hunter stalking her and she knows
that without her powers, she could be an easy target. Thankfully, she has her best friend Adam with her. She's been in love with Adam since she was twelve, but he treats her like his best buddy, not a girlfriend prospect.

When the witch-hunters get closer than ever to Savannah, she knows her time is running out. Adam implores her to go to Miami, to be near the rest of the family, where she will be safe. But Savannah wants to help out Roni, an apprentice witch, who implores Savannah for her help.

Adam is adamant that it's a trap
, and he is fed up with Savannah playing victim without her powers. He knows she is still a strong person without them, but she won't listen. He decides to go to Miami without her. But before he can get on the plane, something happens and Savannah is kidnapped. Will she be able to escape with her life and if so, will Adam finally know how she feels about him? Or does it end there, in a cement cell with no powers to help her escape?
SPELLBOUND is a page-turning, action-packed paranormal thriller that will keep you on the edge of your seat. Savannah finally grows up a bit in this installment of the WOMEN OF THE OTHERWORLD series. It sets  the last book in the series, THIRTEEN, up beautifully, alluding to a good versus evil battle.Fans of the series will be rooting for Adam and Savannah and will enjoy the cameo appearances by many beloved characters from past books in the series. Highly enjoyable!

Because of You by Jessica Scott

Keeping his men alive is all that matters to Sergeant First Class Shane Garrison. But meeting Jen St. James the night before his latest deployment makes Shane wonder if there's more to life than war. He leaves for Iraq remembering a single kiss with a woman he'll never see again- until a near fatal attack lands him back at home and in her care.  Jen has survived her own brush with death and endured its scars. And yet there's a fire in Shane that makes Jen forget all about her past. He may be her patient, but when this warrior looks her in the eyes, she feels - for the first time in a long time - like a woman. Shane is too proud to ask for help, but for Jen, caring for him is more than a duty -it's a need. And as Jen guides Shane through the fires of healing, she finds something she never expected - her deepest desire.

Sergeant First Class Shane Garrison's life revolved around the army. It's even cost him his marriage.  His buddies want to cheer Shane up, so they go out on the town.  There, Shane meets Jen St. James, a nurse and cancer survivor.

Jen has been feeling less than a woman since she lost her left breast.  But when she meets Shane, he makes her feel feminine and whole again.  His departing kiss leaves her breathless and optimistic.

When Shane gets injured in Iraq, he is sent back home.  Surprisingly, it is Jen who is his nurse. But can they heal one another? They both have their own battles to fight within - Jen with her cancer and Shane with his legs.  Can they make themselves whole together so they can share a life together?

Because of You is a tear-jerking romance that will keep you captivated with the realistic characters.  I felt bad for both characters and what they must have been going through.  Scott pulls no punches, leaving the emotional scars and battles right out on the table.  She writes with sincerity and directness with two topics that can hit close to home for anyone.  A superb read any romance fan will enjoy!
