Shipments of current iPhones to grow 10-15% sequentially in 3Q12 despite pending release of new iPhone, say sources

Shipments of current iPhone models, mainly iPhone 4 and iPhone 4S, are expected to grow 10-15% sequentially in the third quarter of 2012 despite mounting market speculation indicating that Apple will unveil its new iPhone on September 12, according to sources in iPhone's supply chain.

Taiwan attracts January-July foreign direct investment of nearly US$2.8 billion

Taiwan's Ministry of Economic Affairs (MOEA) approved 1,433 foreign direct investment projects (except from China) with a total value of US$2.791 billion in January-July 2012, respectively increasing 18.92% and by 6.54% on year, according to MOEA statistics released on August 20.
