Taiwan-based flat screen TV OEMs will see a 10% decline in shipments by the end of the year due to TV vendors across the globe lowering their flat screen TV shipments for the second half of the year, according to industry sources.

People should focus on the new business mode created by Foxconn/Sharp cooperation, says Acer founder

Acer founder Stan Shih, commenting on Foxconn Electronics' (Hon Hai Precision Industry) investment in Japan-based Sharp, pointed out that people should turn their focus from Sharp's stock price to the cooperation itself. The new business mode created from the cooperation will definitely need some time to settle down and there will be some prices that need to be paid, but people should look at the long-term benefits instead of the short-term drawbacks.
